Ambiguous

I think we have to be careful with our words
BEST PRACTICE
and think about who is listening when we use them
RESEARCH BASED
or how they may be interpreted
FIDELITY
by those who just like to toss out those catch phrases
DATA DRIVEN
so that they can capture our attention
ACCOUNTABILITY
before we quietly close our doors
RIGOR
and teach our children.

  1. I love this Laura! So powerful and . . . well, ambiguous! I feel there is still a story behind this 'story' and you've got me thinking about my words.

  2. Catch phrases. I get so tired of these. They mean well, and are trying to get us hooked, but they lose their power like an old piece of gum.

  4. Laura, you've said so much here in your poem. A great reminder to be careful with our words. I think you ended your poem with the most important word we need to always remember --- children.

  6. Laura, I love this. I (almost) can't wait for school to start so I can share it with the non-tweeting teachers!
