While I do a lot of reading, it seems like I remember at 10:00 on Monday night that I wanted to write a post for "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" So, I made sure I put together a quick post so I could participate this week. I know it's picture books to YA... but I had some professional reads that I just had to mention, too. Don't forget to check out this week's collection on Jen and Kellee's blog!
I just can't get enough of this book!! It brings back so many memories of growing up and the wonder of snow... and books.
This nearly wordless book brought tears to my eyes! So sweet! It's by the same author of Winter's Gift (which I absolutely love!!)
I just bought this one over the weekend and can't wait to share it with my first graders! I think they'll love the way it's told with so few words and with such descriptive pictures.
Another great book by the fabulous Franki Sibberson! It reminded me to always keep the big picture in mind. While it's listed as grades 3-6, I still got a lot out of it as a first grade teacher.
The latest title by this duo is packed full of mini-lesson ideas and book titles! You'll want to have your credit card and computer handy as you'll have lots of new titles you'll want to buy.
This was recommended to me during one of our recent #1stchats on Twitter. Will makes so many important points about why we have to consider updating our schools and making sure we are teaching in a way that supports life in the 21st century.
I just started this title, also recommended during a recent #1stchat. It follows along the same lines of Richardson's book in helping us to think outside of our traditional idea of what school can and should do for us.
I'm looking forward to peeking into other people's reading piles this week! What are YOU reading?
